Researcher Identification

Some problems may occur due to reasons such as spelling errors, character incompatibilities, or the presence of more than one researcher with the same name when entering author information in databases. For this reason, in addition to various citation indexes, some organizations have also developed numbers to identify authors.

Our Directorate has prepared help guides for all our academics to use in recording and editing the publications of our University and academics in the following tools for a healthy analysis.

ResearcherID – Help-Guide

Publons provides a ResearcherID number for each author. Authors can collect all their publications in one place by associating them with ResearcherID. Thus, authors can easily access up-to-date citation analyses of their publications in Web of Science. Authors have the opportunity to obtain a ResearcherID by registering on the website.

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) – Help-Guide

ORCID is a non-profit organization founded by various organizations, publications and funders. ORCID provides author identifier numbers to individual researchers free of charge. The ORCID number is also used in Scopus and Web of Science citation indexes.

Editing Scopus Author Profile Information – Help-Guide

The Scopus citation index creates profile pages for each author. These pages also include their identifying numbers.
